Thinking of Selling? Why Now is the Time | MyKCM

It is common knowledge that a large number of homes sell during the spring-buying season. For that reason, many homeowners hold off on putting their homes on the market until then. The question is whether or not that will be a good strategy this year.

The other listings that do come out in the spring will represent increased competition to any seller. Do a greater number of homes actually come to the market in the spring, as compared to the rest of the year? The National Association of Realtors (NAR) recently revealed the months in which most people listed their homes for sale in 2016. You may already know about Mansfield, Ohio if you're a movie buff, skier or world-class racing fan.  Mansfield's The Ohio State Reformatory was the filming site for the movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Air Force One and Tango & Cash. Snow Trails Ski Resort is popular with outdoor enthusiasts for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing.  The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a road course auto racing facility which hosts AMA Motorcycle Racing and Indy Car racing.  But what you might not have realized is there are many great restaurants in Mansfield just waiting for you to try.

Prices Rose 7.1% Year-Over-Year [INFOGRAPHIC] | MyKCM

Some Highlights:

  • CoreLogic's latest Home Price Index shows that prices rose by 7.1% across the United States year-over-year.
  • With mortgage interest rates rising in the short term, CoreLogic believes price appreciation will slow to 4.7% by this time next year.
  • 49 out of 50 states, and the District of Columbia, all had positive appreciation over the last 12 months, with the only exception being the state of Connecticut, which experienced a -0.5% appreciation.
