A big beautiful garden can be the heart of your summertime fun. You can stroll among colorful flowers and listen to birds sing early morning songs. Your family can share a leisurely picnic in the grass or sip lemonade beneath a luxurious shade tree.
Gardens give you so much beauty and pleasure. But you probably don't have the time, energy, or green thumb to cultivate an impressive garden of your own? Our REALTORS® have an ideal solution. Take your family to Kingwood Center Gardens.
Since 1952, the 47-acre estate has been open to the public. The grounds showcase the King family greenhouses, gardens, and mansion. Woodland, terrace, herb, and historic garden presentations offer scenic views. Lush greenery and colorful floral collections encourage private moments of introspection.
A generous bequest by Charles Kelley King made this extraordinary botanical garden available for Mansfield citizens to enjoy. Kingwood Center Gardens offers so many unique experiences; your summertime stroll can be the simple beginning of a beautiful relationship with a wonderful garden.
Here are a few of the events we recommend for the final weeks of summer 2017. Fees vary per class, workshop, or event.
If you prefer walking a path surrounded by natural beauty, you'll enjoy the July Garden Walk on July 22. Head Gardener, Bill Collins, will lead garden enthusiasts on a mid-summer stroll among Daylilies, Hostas, and a beautiful selection of summer-blooming perennials and annuals.
From August 5 through October 1, your family can enjoy a whimsical exhibit with frog sculptures by Andy Cobb. Each colorful copper frog is caught in a moment of playful interaction with its frog companions. The Ribbit Exhibit opening will be a celebration with entertainment and refreshments. Your family can learn about amphibians on Toad Tuesdays and hunt for hidden treasure on Where it is Wednesdays.
Your entire family will enjoy the Hampstead Stage Company's August 2 production of Pinocchio. You must supply your own seating, so remember to bring a blanket or a chair.
Every Tuesday through Saturday, groups of 15 or more may arrange a guided tour. During the 1 & ½ hour walking tour you'll visit the gardens, greenhouse, and Kingwood Hall.
