Ontario Ohio July 4 Festival
Since Independence Day is just around the corner, there's really no place like home to celebrate special holidays with family and friends. Ontario, Ohio is no exception. Our REALTORS® know that when it comes to celebrating, Ontario ranks second to none. Read on to find out what you'll love most when you buy one of our homes for sale in Ontario.

How Ontario Celebrates Independence Day

Ontario 4th of July Festival. Revived in 2003, the Ontario 4th of July Festival is a long-standing tradition. One that dates back to 1969. It's a place with fun for everyone and all ages. This year's festival will take place on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Ontario Liberty 5K Run/Walk

The day kicks off with the Ontario Liberty 5K Run/Walk. If you're not a runner, you can always come and cheer on your friends and neighbors. The race starts at 8:30 am.

And the Fun Begins

The festival opens at 12:00 pm and the midway opens at 1:00 pm. There are several events and live music that's fun for everyone. Most of the events and contests take place at the Ontario Middle School/High School campus. Children can participate in activities like a treasure hunt, pony rides, inflatables, and petting zoo.

Probably one of the most unique children's activities you'll find there is the frog jumping contest. This event attracts a crowd and is a lot of fun to watch, especially if your kids love animals. Kids are divided by age group. Under 5 is the youngest group with 13 yrs.+ being the oldest. The longest jump wins. The top finishers get a medal and chance to compete for the grand prize trophy. Kids must bring their own frog to participate.

Teens and adults aren't left out of the fun either. Try one of our fun competitions. Take on your friends or just cheer them on, either way, you'll have a blast. Tire flipping, tug-of-war, and a watermelon eating contest are just a few ways to spend your afternoon.

Next, grab some raffle tickets and win yourself some awesome prizes! You can support event sponsors and local businesses by entering to win a wide variety of donated prizes, gift certificates, and free or discounted services. Some examples of the kinds of prizes that are available every year include electronics, dining out, car care, jewelry, household décor, small appliances, haircuts and mini golf. This is a pretty large raffle so you'll want to check out everything available. You're sure to find something you want.

July 4 wouldn't be the same without a parade. Make time to enjoy the Ontario High School Marching Band and Drum Line and other parade participants at 4:00 pm

You'll have plenty of fun the whole day. And the perfect end to all the fun is the fireworks show at 10:05 pm behind the middle school. The whole family will enjoy the stunning display that will have you "oohing and aahing" right up to the end.
