2018 marks the 16th year of the Lexington Blueberry Festival, and during the four day event, it's all about the blueberry. You'll find a wealth of tasty treats featuring the berry, along with plenty of other great food and drink offerings to satisfy your appetite. If you're up to the challenge, the pie eating competition promises lots of tasty fun for participants, and spectators are sure to enjoy the show. For those who want to jump right into the action, grab a partner and enter the Blueberry Stomp competition.
Fun For All Ages
There's never a shortage of things to do at the Lexington Blueberry Festival, and you'll find events and attractions that cater to everyone in the family. Enjoy the nostalgia of midway rides and games, and let the kids explore the playground area. Children and adults alike can join in the on the Big Wheel Race on Sunday for fun and prizes. The Richland Bank Treasure hunt on Sunday afternoon offers various competitions and brings excitement for all.
Want to get some exercise to compensate for all the tasty blueberry treats you're going to try? The festival features great events to get the heart pumping as well. Gear up for this year's 5K and Glow Run or sign up for the 2018 Volleyball Bash.
The Sights and Sounds of Summer
Amid all the festival happenings, you might want to relax and take in a show. Not to worry, the Lexington Blueberry Festival features some great entertainment! From concerts on the main stage each evening to the Miss Blueberry Pageants, there's always something to see. Take a stroll to see the Bike and Car Show entrants on Friday evening, and plan on staying Saturday night to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display. Everyone loves a parade, and the festival presents one on Thursday morning and another on Sunday afternoon.
The festival is conveniently located at Lexington Community Park and kicks off on August 16. Admission to the festival is free, and there's plenty of free parking as well.
