Galentine's Day Brunch at Home - Haring Realty

February is the month of love, and Galentine's Day is a reminder to celebrate your relationships with your best girl pals. Introduced to the world by the beloved Leslie Knope on "Parks and Rec," Galentine's Day is a great reason to get together with friends. Our REALTORS® know that you don't have to go out for a memorable celebration; instead, host your own brunch at home. Here are a few tips to help you host a brunch to remember.

  • Put Together a Charcuterie Board
A charcuterie board is a smart, tasty addition to your February gathering. Focus on adding red, pink, purple, and white foods to ensure your board looks as festive as possible. Start by adding the centerpiece of your charcuterie board; this is an excellent spot to put a bowl of dip, a selection of meats and cheeses, or some sweet treats. Then, fill in the rest of the board with fruits, spreads, vegetables, and crackers. You may also incorporate decorative hearts to add a touch of color to your board. Or, if you have a few items you want to include that feel less than festive, cut them into heart shapes with a cookie cutter.

  • Set Up a Waffle Bar
Leslie Knope famously dines on waffles during the show's season two episode of Galentine's Day. Recreate this scene by setting up your own waffle bar. You can make the waffles ahead of time, or if you have a waffle maker, you can let your attendees make their own waffles. Set out toppings to accompany the waffles, like a mix of fruits, whipped cream, a variety of syrups and jams, peanut butter, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, and Nutella.

  • Bake a Quiche
A quiche is an excellent complement to waffles or another sweet breakfast treat. You can save preparation time by omitting the crust and baking a crustless quiche that incorporates eggs, breakfast meat, and vegetables. Or, if you need a meat-free alternative, you can make a quiche using your favorite cheeses and vegetables. When you're getting ready to see Ashland homes for sale, a breakfast quiche ensures you have ample energy to explore all your options.

  • Decorate for the Occasion
No Galentine's Day brunch is complete without a few festive decorations. Consider hitting up your local dollar store for some budget-friendly options, or you can even repurpose red holiday decor. Vases with flowers, string lights, red or pink table coverings, lanterns, and balloons are just a few fun alternatives.

  • Set Out a Mimosa Bar
Mimosas are a popular beverage for any brunch. Let your attendees make their own mimosas by setting out a few bottles of champagne along with a variety of fruit juices, including orange, pineapple, cranberry, and grapefruit.
