Enjoy Fall Drinks at Home | Haring Realty

As the days begin to cool, it's no surprise we turn to the flavors of fall. From pumpkin spice to apple cider, you can't go wrong with a hot drink made at home. Our REALTORS® have discovered many options you could savor in one of our gorgeous Mansfield homes for sale. Here are a few delicious favorites.

  • Peanut Butter Nutella Hot Chocolate
    Hot chocolate always hits the spot, but it's absolute bliss when you mix in peanut butter and Nutella. Here's how to create this tasty concoction:
    1. Heat 4 cups of low-fat or skim milk in a medium-sized saucepan on medium-high heat. 
    2. Once you see some steam, add 2 tablespoons of Nutella. You can also use a chocolate hazelnut or cacao spread. 
    3. Add 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter (or powdered peanut butter for fewer calories). Feel free to adjust the amount of peanut butter to fit your taste. 
    4. Add 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar. 
    5. Whisk all of these ingredients until they're fully dissolved and combined. 
    6. Bring everything to a gentle simmer while stirring.
    7. Remove your delicious pan of hot chocolate from the stove. 
    8. Add marshmallows, crushed hazelnuts, chocolate chips, or extra Nutella for added zing. 
  • Pumpkin Spice Latte
    Nothing says the magic of fall flavors quite like pumpkin spice. Here's how to make this very flavorful latte:
    1. Start with 2 cups of either dairy or non-dairy milk.
    2. Add 2-3 tablespoons of pumpkin puree (depending on taste) and 1-3 tablespoons of sugar (again, to your taste) to a saucepan.
    3. Heat the saucepan over medium heat until the mixture gets hot, but don't let it boil. 
    4. Take the saucepan off the burner and whisk in 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, and 1/2 cup of strong hot coffee. This will give you two mugs of pumpkin spice latte. 
    5. Top each mug with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. 
  • Fall Harvest Hot Apple Cider
    If anything can rival the taste of pumpkin during the fall, it's apple cider. Here's how to whip up this fall delight:
    1. Start by placing eight whole cloves on a double-thickness of cheesecloth. 
    2. Pull up each corner of the cloth and tie it with string to form a bag. 
    3. Place the entire spice bag that you've created into a 3-quart slow cooker.
    4. Add 4 cups of apple cider or juice, 4 cups of pineapple juice, 1/2 cup of water, a single 3-inch cinnamon stick, and 1 tea bag. 
    5. Cover the slow cooker and cook the concoction on low until the cider reaches your desired temperature, which will take approximately two hours. 
    6. Before serving, throw away the spice bag, cinnamon stick, and tea bag.
  • Slow Cooker Peppermint Hot Chocolate
    Even though this list is short, we couldn't let it go without one more type of hot chocolate. Here's how to do this super easy recipe:
    1. Start with 6 cups of milk, 3 cups of half-and-half, 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, two 1.55-ounce Hershey's chocolate bars, and 10 candy canes. 
    2. Add all the ingredients into your slow cooker and cook them on low for at least 2 hours. 
    3. Stir the ingredients to combine them before serving.
