Find New Love for Your Home This Year | Haring RealtyFind New Love for Your Home This Year | Haring Realty

Would you say you're in love with your home? It's not uncommon for people to fall out of love with their homes over time. After living in the same place for a while, the decor can start to feel a bit stale, even if the home still suits your overall needs. If it truly feels like time to move on, our REALTORS® can help you find the perfect new home. But in many cases, it's possible to re-imagine your space, make a few changes, and fall back in love with your current place. Here are a few changes to consider.

  • Polish the Woodwork
Many of the Bucyrus homes for sale that we've seen recently have polished, shiny woodwork. It's amazing how stately and refined these older homes look when the wood has been nicely polished and cared for. If your woodwork looks dull, purchase a high-quality polish and follow the directions on the bottle to apply it. You can also polish wood furniture such as tables, dressers, and bookshelves.

  • Add a New Pantry
Do your kitchen cabinets feel too cluttered and disorganized? You'll fall back in love with your kitchen by eliminating some clutter, and one of the easiest ways to do that is to purchase a free-standing pantry cabinet. Set it up in an empty corner or along a wall, and use it to hold all your food items. This will leave you with more cabinet space for dishes and cooking utensils and make it easier to keep food items organized.

  • Hang up New Keepsakes
Do you have some newer family photos that you really love? Maybe there's a print you bought on vacation, or perhaps there's a souvenir shirt you could frame. Adding new and meaningful wall hangings can make your home feel more personalized. Consider hanging such items in the entryway to spark conversation with visiting guests. Or, hang them in your bedroom to help your space feel more like your own.

  • Paint Your Cabinets
A kitchen or bathroom can take on a whole new look if you just paint the cabinets. If your cabinets are currently dark, paint them a light color for a fresh, more inviting look. If your cabinets are already light, painting them a deeper color can make the space feel more elegant. Let your new cabinet color inspire you to buy some new decor, too.

  • Add an Area Rug
If you have hard floors, adding an area rug to the space can provide a hint of coziness. You could center the area rug under your coffee table in the living room. Or, use an area rug to create a nook-like space to the side of a great room. With a few comfortable chairs and a bookshelf, this could be a new place for you to read. We've seen several Bellville homes for sale with nooks like these, and they're lovely.

  • Rearrange Furniture
Did you ever rearrange your bedroom as a child? It always made the space feel brand new, right? Rearranging any room in your home will have a similar effect on you as an adult. Use graph paper to draw different layouts for your bedroom, living room, or dining room. Find a new layout you love, and get to moving.

Your home should be a place where you feel not only comfortable and at ease but also excited and inspired. If you follow a few of these tips, you'll fall back in love with your home. Of course, you can always contact us if you decide to look for new Mansfield homes for sale instead.
