Shawshank Redemption 25th Anniversary
This year marks the 25th anniversary of The Shawshank Redemption, the beloved 1994 film that was shot almost entirely in and around Mansfield, Ohio. Our REALTORS® are very excited to welcome the anniversary celebration to Mansfield on August 16-18, not only because it's one of our favorite movies of all time, but also because it gives us a chance to revisit some of our favorite Mansfield landmarks that appeared in the film!
Celebrate 25 Years of The Shawshank Redemption
The Shawshank Redemption 25th Anniversary Weekend takes place in Mansfield August 16-18, 2019. Tickets are on sale now, providing an immersive experience that includes touring the filming sites and getting to meet some of the cast and filmmakers. Events include:
- A screening of the Shawshank Redemption at the Renaissance Theatre, where the movie originally premiered in 1994.
- Exclusive Shawshank Reception and Actor Autograph Session at the Ohio State Reformatory, the historic prison that stood in for Shawshank in the film.
- Background Actors Panel, featuring extras and background actors who have fascinating stories to tell about the film.
- Shawshank Authors Panel and Production Panel, featuring unique insights from the writers and production team behind the movie.

Downtown Mansfield 2019 Final Friday Brickyard Series
Mansfield — are you ready to rock this summer? Join our REALTORS® for the Final Friday Concert Series in the Brickyard District. This five-event concert series will take place at The Brickyard on the last Friday of the month between May and September. Party each night with your family, friends, and neighbors as you dance to live music, sample delicious food and celebrate summer the Mansfield way.

Parking: Free guest parking is available. All metered spaces are free after 4 PM Monday through Friday, as well as all day on Saturday and Sunday. There is also free parking available at the Municipal Parking Lots located on 4th Street and Main Street and 3rd Street & Diamond Street.

If you enjoy decorating for the holidays, you'll love the festive splendor of the Herlihy Christmas House. This private family home in Mansfield is adorned with thousands of lights, hundreds of Santas, trains, villages, Disney-themed displays, and over 25 decorated Christmas trees. This private collection of holiday decorations has been cultivated for decades, with some pieces dating back more than 50 years!
Each decoration is hand-placed by family members and volunteers who carry on the tradition that began all the way back in 1987. It only takes one visit to the Herlihy Christmas House to see why it's has become a favorite tradition among our REALTORS® and Mansfield residents of all ages.

Spend Halloween in Haunted Mansfield
Is Halloween your favorite holiday of the year? If you love all things spooky, scary, and sensational, then there are few better places to be than Mansfield for the Halloween season this year. In addition to all of the local events going on throughout October to celebrate Halloween, Mansfield is home to one of the most stunning haunted "houses" in the entire country. The Ohio State Reformatory – a beautiful, historic prison loaded with stories from across the centuries – is the site of the annual "Escape from Blood Prison" haunted house. It's the perfect way to get your adrenaline flowing during the spooky season, and our REALTORS® have all of the haunted details on this popular, local event.

The Haunted History of the Ohio State Reformatory
The Ohio State Reformatory was designed by architect Levi T. Schofield, with the first stones for the spectacular structure being laid in 1886. While you definitely won't find it on the list of Mansfield homes for sale, the Ohio State Reformatory did serve as a sort of home throughout its working life. The prison housed some of the most dangerous criminals in Ohio, and ghost stories were very common even before the prison became a well-known historic site.
